A wedding is a very special day for couples. And its importance and high level of organisation undoubtedly makes it very stressful. So, we want to help you out and make this task a bit easier, helping you adapt your budget for some personal wedding decorations and manage each little detail in order to create the perfect day.
Firstly, you’ll need to figure out the most important things to keep in mind when organising a wedding.
Key aspects of wedding organisation
- You’ll first need to have it clear it your mind what kind of wedding it’s going to be. A church wedding, at a barn, a restaurant, a banquet hall, if it’s going to be in the morning or afternoon, etc. Once you’ve decided on the location, the date and the time, you’ve already taken the first big step.
- The next thing is to define the style of the wedding. Will it be a theme wedding, black tie, or are guests free to wear what they want?
- Next, you’ll need to find a good photographer and decide if you’d like a wedding video made. It’s also a good idea to choose the bride’s dress and groom’s suit in advance, so you’ve got time for different fittings and adjustments. Especially when it comes to the bride.
- Once you’ve got all this sorted, or at least organised, it’s time to start thinking about wedding decorations. You could hire a wedding planner to help you with this, but it’s expensive and you’ll still be the ones making all the decisions. You could also choose to organise it yourselves, little by little, completely to your own tastes. To help you out we’re going to give you all the info on what you need, as well as ideas to help inspire you to create the most precious and unforgettable wedding day.
Everything you need to decorate your wedding
Decorating a wedding isn’t easy, there are many details to keep in mind, but with a bit of time and patience everything will come out perfectly. What is there to think about when it comes to decorating?
-
-
- Photocall and Photobooth: Create a good space where guests can take fun photos, both with the happy couple and among themselves- it’s essential! To make it you’ll need to create a background with your names, or the date of your wedding, and include a photo of you both. Above all, you’ll need to find some fun accessories they can try on.
-
-
-
- Table Decorations: It’s also important to decorate the place where your guests will be eating with some pretty details. Find a nice table cloth, normally the venue will give you plenty of options, and then decorate it with some centre pieces, candles, confetti, table runners, decorative ribbon, etc.
-
-
-
- Decorating the reception: Use hanging decorations like garlands, paper lanterns and banners with different messages that you can hang around the room. “Just Married”, “Welcome” and “Love is Sweet” garlands, or individualised garlands with your names on, are great options you can use to decorate your reception hall.
-
-
-
- Seating Plan: It’s important for your guests to know which table they’re sitting at, so you’ll need to make a good seating plan. This is a type of map showing all the different tables and where your guests will be seated. To do this you can number your tables, or name them something special, like films you like, cities or countries you’ve travelled to… Then on each table you can attach a certain image or card to identify it.

-
- Candy bar: The night is here and so is the party. What better to pair a glass of wine with than a few sweets. That’s what the candy bar is for. A table full of sweets and chocolates. To organise it, gather some different boxes, jars, and decorative plates that match the rest of the wedding décor. Don’t forget straws, toothpicks, and decorations like garlands, balloons and decorative fans.

-
- Wedding car decorations: There are loads of options here, so you can decide just what you want. You might want to opt for film inspired decorations, by tying some aluminium cans to the bumper which bounce along the road as you go. We’ve got some decorative cans just for this. Or something simpler perhaps, with some bows on the doors and a “Just Married” sign, or a personalised banner, strung across the back for a touch of fun.

-
- Wedding ring boxes: The precious rings that you’ll put on during the ceremony to signify the promise you’re making, whether in a church or at a civil ceremony, deserve to be kept in a pretty box or case. As well as classic glass cases, we have some more unique options, like a tiny wooden tree trunk with space for two rings, or raffia cushions to place the rings on top.
